At the close of 2009, StratoChem Services partnered with Chemostrat Ltd. of the United Kingdom (UK). Formed in 1994 by Dr. Tim Pearce, Chemostrat Ltd was one of the first companies in the petroleum industry to apply ICP-OES and ICP-MS technology to chemostratigraphy. Chemostrat Ltd has spent the last 15 years demonstrating that chemostratigraphy is a tool as useful as traditional methods, such as lithostratigraphy, biostratigraphy or sequence stratigraphy. |

StratoChem Services first partnered with Fluid Inclusion Technologies (FIT) in 2005. Fluid Inclusion Technologies specializes in the laboratory analysis of trace fluids in rock material and in well site analysis of borehole fluids during drilling, via direct mass spectrometry. The automated laboratory technique (FIS) is both rapid and cost effective creating unique data that significantly improves the understanding of exploration and production wells. The rig based Dq1000 is an innovative technology, capable of detecting the widest range of volatile species yet to be analyzed in real time, providing valuable well data, correlating well with other data sets and benefiting exploration and development wells in a large number of applications.
Applications for FIS lab based analysis:
- Characterization of seals, oil and gas
- Identification of dry holes proximal to undiscovered hydrocarbons
- Delineation of pay or bypassed pay within penetrated sections
- Identification of fluid pressure compartments
- Characterization of petroleum-water transition zone
- Petroleum migration pathway map
Applications for Dq1000 real time well site analysis:
- Better estimates of hydrocarbon type and quality
- Gas-oil and oil-water contacts and seals
- By passed pay
- Steering horizontal wells
- Reservoir compartmentalisation
- Evaluation of oil and gas characteristics
- Identification of optimum porosity zones

http://www.gore.com/en_xx/
For over 50 years explorationists have investigated frontier areas using various near surface measurement techniques, to measure the vertical migration of volatile compounds from subsurface reservoirs. In 2002 StratoChem Services teamed with Gore to bring new near surface detection methods to the Middle East. Since then, improvements in the Gore technology, now called Amplified Geochemical Imaging, have made it the most sophisticated near surface detection tool in the industry.
Amplified Geochemical Imaging can detect C2-C20 hydrocarbons that move to the surface through vertical microseepage. The collection tubes are sent to the laboratory where the 85 volatile organic compounds are thermally desorbed, separated, identified, and quantified by gas chromatography/ mass spectrometry (GC/MS) detection.
The extensive 85 compound list provides the unique ability to differentiate between naturally occurring background hydrocarbons and charged reservoir hydrocarbons and also allows the identification of compounds found in dry gas, wet gas, condensate, and other types of oils.
Additionally, the extensive target compound list allows new multivariate statistical analysis software to produce maps of the reservoir charge to be integrated with other G&G data to predict potentially charged areas as well as dry holes. For more information go to:

Since 2000, StratoChem Services has partnered with Isotech Laboratories, a global leader in geochemical isotope analyses and the first geochemical laboratory to bring routine isotope analytical technology to the Middle East. As the largest private stable isotope laboratory in the Western Hemisphere, Isotech specializes in high-precision carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur isotope analysis - isotopic fingerprinting - for a variety of industries. They have built a reputation on providing superior services delivered by expert staff.
Isotech has expanded from its original offering of chemical and stable isotope analysis of natural gases to include isotope analyses of other gases, waters, organic and inorganic solids, and organic liquids. |

Waples Consulting
-
Reduce per sample costs by 90%,
-
Accurately define the limits and/or changes in organofacies within a single source unit.
-
Identify new organofacies or indicate subtle differences therein.
For modeling purposes these differences can sometimes provide a much more detailed understanding of the history of the geologic process and thus have a substantial impact on exploration success and the accuracy of estimating existing reserves. |
