StratoChem Services

We just returned from Tunisia where we participated in giving two courses

Have a good day,
Rick "

1.) a 3 day course entitled - Reservoir Geochemistry: Applications to Field Development and Production and

2.) a 2 day course entitled - Gas Geochemistry: Applications to Petroleum Exploration and Field Development

The reservoir course talked about the fact that during field development and production, numerous problems can be solved through integration of geochemical, geological, and engineering data. Geochemical approaches for solving these problems are appealing since:
   > they provide an independent method for resolving ambiguous geological & engineering data
   > they are far less expensive than engineering alternatives and
   > they can be used when other approaches cannot

The gas course course provided a comprehensive introduction to the geochemistry of natural gases, gas occurrence & formation, and applications of gas geochemistry to geologic, engineering and environmental problems. Applications critical to Exploration and Development were illustrated with regional examples being provided.

The response from the majority of the attendees was very very positive. Many of the attendees were surprised what level of illumination geochemistry can bring to a problem at normally a very low cost as compared to other techniques. Everyone seemed pleased anyway. Maybe they were afraid to speak their mind? :c)

StratoChem Services (SCS)provides analytical and interpretive services for the oil and gas industry from its headquarters in Egypt to the Middle East, North Africa and countries around the world. SCS performs geochemical testing and incorporates these results in a geologic context using supporting data such as stratigraphic columns, well logs, and basin modeling to address exploration, production, and development questions

One thing that sets StratoChem Services apart is the depth of experience of its staff. The SCS founders have been working in the Middle East for over 30 years and are actively involved in reviewing reports and guiding young geologists and geochemists. Because of this wealth of experience our staff have not only become familiar with the geochemistry and geology of the Middle East and North Africa, but they have learned to evaluate laboratory data from a geologic perspective. While some companies just generate data, we focus on generating
